Building a Skin-Tone Palette With Preciosa Chocolate

INSPIRATION
A new neutral joins the Preciosa® Chaton Rose MAXIMA lineup, and it was built to do one thing well: read true against skin.
There's a reason so many embellishment palettes start with skin. It's the one backdrop every piece has to work against, whether it's a bridal gown, a competition costume, or a single strap. Chocolate is Preciosa's answer to that brief: a rich, saturated brown inspired by dark cocoa, aged leather, and finely crafted materials, designed to sit naturally against the full range of skin tones instead of fighting them.
Meet Chocolate
|
Chocolate brings a new depth to brown. It's warm without tipping orange, dark without going flat, the kind of neutral that reads as considered rather than default. Versatile and contemporary, it complements a broad spectrum of skin tones and adds depth to more expressive color stories. From understated accents to richly embellished surfaces, it gives designers a grounded, adaptable shade with room to move. |

Building the palette

Chocolate joins a skin-tone inspired palette that already spans soft champagne to deep brown. Here's the full lineup, ordered light to dark:
Together they give designers a way to match, blend, and grade tone the way skin actually shifts across light and shadow, rather than reaching for one shade and hoping it reads true everywhere. With Chocolate added, the palette supports more nuanced color matching, tonal embellishment, and subtle gradation across a wider range of applications, from a single accent to a fully graduated ombre. |
Body architecture
|
This season's styling story explores the body as an architectural form: sculptural silhouettes, corsetry, and skin-inspired tones meeting in the same piece. A sophisticated nude palette sets the stage, and Chocolate, deep and warm without appearing flat, becomes the shade that gives the structure its definition. Think a corset built from paneled Chocolate crystal against skin, where the embellishment reads like a second skin rather than an accessory laid on top. The same logic scales down easily. A single pair of heels in graduated tones from champagne to Chocolate tells the same story as the corset: warmth building toward depth, each shade reading true against the last. |
