Our 2020 season is all about supporting artists. Artists and artist athletes such as dancers, figure skaters, gymnasts, drag queens, figure posing competitors, western show competitors and cheerleaders are the obvious artists to support. At Rhinestones Unlimited we seek to support the support team of artists behind the artist. What do we mean? We look for the choreographers, dance teachers, coaches, costumers, dressmakers, and tailors that provide the sparkle and artful eye and talent that really allows the artist to sparkle in the spotlight.

To kick off this season we are thrilled with the return of the Sparkle in the Spotlight Design Contest. This year we have a dance studio owner, dance mom turned designer, dance grandma coming out of retirement to design for her dancing granddaughter, figure skating dress designer, ballroom dress designer, and burlesque designer. As part of our celebration and support of artistry, we present to you the finalists in the Swarovski® Sparkle In the Spotlight 2019 costume competition!

Each day this week we will be revealing a designer with video and images. Fifth up is:  PETRA DESIGNS.

Petra Designs (Petra C. Polak) is located in Corona, California creating a world of fashion, colors and dance. Her mission is to help women and men to enhance their own personal style and create a look they will love.

Petra believes the perfect dress is the right combination of style that flatters the dancer's body type, helps to create nice movement without being too overpowering, compliments their personality on the dance floor and is in perfect harmony with skin, eyes and hair coloring.

Petra started her custom design carrier in 1996. At that time she danced and competed all over the Europe and truly enjoyed creating her own costumes. Soon after she started to make dresses for other female dancers as well. Even after many years of experience in creating dresses, she has never stopped educating herself. She likes to see what’s in style for each season and discover new techniques to create dresses more efficiently and with even more precision.

Each of Petra's dress designs is original and created from the highest quality fabrics and rhinestones. Her work is impeccable offering the perfect fit and stunning details.  Check out her red hot Sparkle in the Spotlight creation!
