Her teacher/choreographer is Sarah Magoon and she sent her this as inspiration for her costume at the beginning of the season:

"Ava just turned 15 and I am thinking about going more contemporary/modern for her this season. We usually have a contemporary/Lyrical mix because her facial expression and emotional connection are so great. But I am thinking about stretching her and going more classical contemporary, almost modern. Ava and I have always had a very unique connection and I‘ve had the privilege of teaching her from the age of 3. Only 3 weeks ago I unexpectedly lost my brother and I would like to create something on Ava to tell that story. She had appendicitis surgery a couple days before the visitation, but her mom couldn’t stop her from coming to support me there. So, with pajamas on and doped up on pain killers, there she was, supporting me as I feel apart. It’s hard to find teenagers who care that much about anything anymore."
