No Tariff Rhinestones: Crystals Remain Duty-Free

Great News for Rhinestone Enthusiasts!

We know that unexpected costs can put a damper on your creative projects. That's why, in March 2025, we made a proactive decision here at Rhinestones Unlimited. In anticipation of potential tariffs, we took a bit of a leap and brought in a significant amount of inventory before these changes could directly impact you.  As of August 2026, we have not increased- but actually decreased many- prices.  

Tariff History from the Czech Republic and our Response

March 2025: With the looming threat of tariffs, Preciosa and Rhinestones Unlimited had foresight and planned ahead. We secured inventory before the tariffs were inacted and were able to hold pricing steady with no tariffs for an entire year.  

April 2025: The U.S. enacted a 10% universal baseline tariff on nearly all global imports, which included Czech goods. Rhinestones Unlimited customers did not see any increase in their pricing. 

July 2025: The U.S. threatened to raise that blanket tariff to 30% on all EU goods, triggering market panic and a sharp drop in the Czech crown.To avoid the 30% penalty, the U.S. and EU signed a historic trade framework in Scotland just days before the deadline.

February 2026: The U.S. Supreme Court struck down the tariffs imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA)—including the “reciprocal tariffs” announced in April 2025. This included the 15% minimum tariff applied to goods from the European Union, including the Czech Republic. A new 15% tariff was immediately imposed under other laws were not invalidated by the decision. 

April 2026: Preciosa had their annual 3% price increase. Rhinestones Unlimited was named Preciosa's only Platinum Elite Partner.  With this new level of partnership and continued commitment to hold pricing steady, Rhinestones Unlimited did not increase prices. 

August 2026: Rhinestones Unlmited identified a few wholesale pricing discrepencies and lowered many Preciosa MAXIMA and LUX European Crystals wholesale prices to remain the best online wholesale price available.  We are proud that no tariffs were ever charged for inventory stocked in the Rhinestones Unlmited warehouse because of our foresight, planning and commitment to our loyal wholeale customers. 

The Latest News on Tariffs on Chinese Rhinestones

A 34-44% tariff has been consistent on Chinese imports since April 2025, which includes our Starcut Crystal and PriceLess Crystal.  But, as a customer of Rhinestones Unlimited, you do not pay tariffs.  Our pricing has remained unchanged on Chinese goods. We are working hard to keep our prices steady and competitive.  Our goal is to take the guess work out of your project costs allowing you to create and succeed.  

Price Increases v. Tariffs

We know that companies are "playing games" by saying no tariff but then significantly increasing prices.  We have further good news.  In September 2025, we passed along Preciosa's annual price increase but in August 2026 because of our partnership and planning, we lowered many prices to remain the most competitive wholesale rhinestone supplier online.  

Tariff Impact on Special & Large Orders

Special ordered products will be subject to any applicable tariffs. Additionally, if you place a large order that exceeds our current in-stock inventory levels, we will be in touch to let you know how much of your order we can fulfill at the current, tariff-free pricing.  Anything purchased on our website and not in excess of current inventory levels (which is a lot!) will be sent tariff free!

What is this Tariff you speak of? 

For those unfamiliar, a tariff is essentially a tax imposed by the government on goods imported from other countries. These tariffs are collected by U.S. Customs and Border Protection and, like the weather, are something that is unfortunately outside of our control here at Rhinestones Unlimited.
