What is a flatback rhinestone?
A flatback rhinestone is a loose crystal with a flat, foiled back that reflects light for added brilliance. It is applied with glue or held in a metal setting, and is used on costumes, clothing, and accessories.
Do more facets mean more sparkle?
Generally yes. More precisely cut facets return more light, which is why MAXIMA, at 15 to 18 facets, is brighter than a 12-facet stone. Cut quality, foiling, and color consistency also affect how a stone reads on stage.
What is the difference between flatback and hotfix?
Flatback describes the shape: a flat, foiled back. Hotfix describes the application: heat-activated glue already applied to that flat back. Most of our brands offer both glue-on flatbacks and hotfix versions.
How do I attach flatback rhinestones?
